An important element of caring for the washing machine is also the correct performance of laundry. Before loading the drum, remove objects from the pockets that can get into the holes and block the flow of water. Coins, pet hair or tissues cause most problems. Home remedies for washing machine care

One of the best ways to clean your washing machine is the tried-and-true combination of baking soda, citric acid and vinegar in a slurry – this combination can also handle other tasks around the house perfectly. Widely available and inexpensive ingredients allow you to remove even the most inconvenient stains, and in addition to the usual dirt will also cope with mold and scale.

In order to distribute the agent into all corners of the washing machine, it is worth using a dishwashing sponge and a toothbrush – their texture will allow you to reach even the most inaccessible places.

Cleaning the powder and liquid dispenser

This is the part that accumulates a lot of dirt – improper care of the dispenser can cause many problems with the operation of the entire device. With a little dirt you don’t even need any detergent. Take out the powder and liquid dispenser and soak it in warm water and leave it for half an hour

Hot water effectively softens the dirt, so you can easily get rid of it from the surface of the element. When we have to deal with mold, it is worth using citric acid. In case of the most problematic stains, it is a good idea to use vinegar and a toothbrush.

Cleaning the washing machine drum

Again, it is a good idea to use citric acid and vinegar – their action softens the dirt, which can then be removed even with a normal washing machine cycle.

How to do it? The first step is to prepare the liquid – to clean the drum, you just need about 150 milliliters of spirit vinegar with added citric acid. Then we should choose a program with a water temperature of 90 degrees. Going through such a cycle of washing will effectively clean the entire surface inside, vinegar will help get rid of dirt, and at the same time disinfect the drum. If you want to get rid of a specific smell after this stage of cleaning, you can turn the washing machine on again or leave the door open for a few hours.

It is also worth noting another advantage of using spirit vinegar – it is an agent with descaling properties. Limescale is a common problem for washing machines, especially when water is supplied through old or neglected pipes. Scale buildup is associated with improper water pressure, which in extreme cases can even make it impossible to do laundry.

To completely get rid of this problem, use a large amount of vinegar – it is recommended to use up to two liters. As with ordinary drum cleaning, we should choose a cycle with a temperature of 90 degrees.

How to clean the filters?

In some situations, the washing machine can suddenly refuse to work at all – one of the most common causes is dirty filters. Dirt that collects in different parts of these elements can clog them, making it impossible to use the washing machine.

To clean the filters, you have to take them out and then remove anything that is not collected by them – for example hair, paper, buttons, coins or tissues. Next, we should rinse them thoroughly to get rid of all unwanted residue. Finally, just put them back in the washing machine and enjoy the smooth running of the machine.
